TV Soap Opera "Mazih Fi Jad" (Joking Seriously)

Period: April 2005 - October 2005

During 2005, Ma'an Network produced and broadcast the first ever Palestinian television drama series "Mazih Fi Jad". It was composed of thirteen episodes, 30 minutes each, aimed at Palestinian youth. The scripts were developed around messages that had been gathered through a research process in the West Bank and Gaza among youth. The drama series tackled many issues of public concern including the occupation, elections, elderly/youth dynamics and non-violent conflict resolution. The TV drama was broadcast during the month of Ramadan 2005 on Ma'an Network ten TV stations. This production was the first ever of its kind using Palestinian talent in all aspects of its production.
