Training Palestinian Media Professionals in Producing TV Talk Shows on Contentious Social and Political Issues

Period: September 2005 - December 2005

Objectives:

• Promoting debate on important issues within Palestinian society

• Strengthening Palestinian television by training media professionals in talk show production

this project was designed to improve TV programming and build the capacity of local stations to produce quality talk shows,  aiming to use the talk show format as a vehicle to facilitate public debate on sensitive social and political topics.

Results:

• One-week production training course for directors, anchors, cameramen, editors and reporters.

• Production and broadcast of 12 television talk shows on Ma'an Network stations.

• TV talk show production manual distributed to participants and other interested parties.
