Objectives: 

This project is the third stage of a public awareness campaign among target communities throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip (including farmers, consumers and policy-makers)  in controlling Brucellosis disease, a highly contagious disease that passes from animals to humans, and is prevalent in the area (particularly the Hebron and Dora districts, which were a focus of the project). The main activities of the third phase of the project include building human and resource capacity in the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture in conducting public awareness campaigns; production and broadcast of 3 TV talk shows, 3 TV spots/public service announcements, and a documentary film on Brucellosis disease; and a public information and education campaign

Results: 

 - 16 members of the Ministry of Agriculture attended training workshops on advancing their media skills.
 - A series of 3 talk shows, entitled Meadows (Rawabeena), involving panel discussions between relevant experts and Ministers on Brucellosis disease, were produced and broadcast on Ma’an TV Network.
 - A series of 3 TV spots/public service announcements  on protecting people from Brucellosis disease and dealing with dairy products, produced and broadcast on PBC and Ma'an Network’s TV stations.

-Documentary on controlling Brucellosis produced and broadcast on PBC and Ma'an Network’s TV stations.
 - Public education campaign: the televised play “Hannouneh” (a dramatization of agriculture and hygiene issues) was performed by the actor Mr. Khaled Al- Masu from Inad Theatre in six different schools in the West Bank, and was filmed at Ma’an Central Studios and and distributed as a DVD.
