Live Broadcast of Palestinian Legislative Council Sessions

Period: July 2005 - June 2006

Objectives:

• Increasing the accountability and transparency of the Palestinian legislative process

•  Educating the Palestinian public about the role of the Palestinian Legislative Council

The project was designed to promote good governance by allowing public scrutiny of the legislative process.

Results:

•  Broadcasting began in July 2005 in cooperation with Al-Quds Educational TV in Ramallah.

• Sessions were shown live on all Ma'an Network television stations, reaching audiences throughout the West Bank and Gaza.
