Period: October 2004 - September 2005

Objectives:

•  Raising public awareness and stimulating debate about domestic social, political and economic issues

• Increasing participation from all sectors of Palestinian society, especially women and youth

•  Strengthening quality independent Palestinian media production

This project combined training in talk show production with the production of a series of  TV talk shows called Together for Palestine. Training was geared toward moderating effective debates and mastering the technical skills necessary for high quality production.

Program content included roundtable discussions on current events and debates, such as the run-up to the second Palestinian legislative elections and obstacles to good governance. In addition, Ma'an produced nine investigative reports addressing crucial local issues in the West Bank and  Gaza Strip, including honor killing, incest, unplanned construction and urban development, local industry and globalization, health conditions, the Allenby border crossing to Jordan, and the water crisis.

Results:

• 12 one-hour episodes produced and broadcast on Ma'an Network TV stations.
