Capacity and Quality Enhancement of Independent Palestinian Daily TV News Programming

Period: August 2006 - July 2007 

Objective:

• Facilitating local daily news programming and enhancing the quality of local TV production

This project was designed to enhance the journalistic skills of key local production staff. It was grounded in the belief that improving the capacity of local Palestinian news producers to disseminate balanced, accurate and engaging information generates a more informed and active Palestinian public, thereby underpinning democracy in the region.

Results:

• Chief Editors, anchors, on-camera reporters and TV directors received training in producing and delivering news, in-studio and on location.

• Daily news programs were produced and broadcast on all Ma'an Network television stations.
