Building the Capacities of Palestinian Radio Anchors/Journalists and Production of Radio Programs

Period: July 2006 - June 2007

Objectives:

• Encouraging production of independent, creative and courageous radio programs tackling crucial social, cultural, economic and political issues

• Strengthening production capacities of local Palestinian radio stations

• Equipping local journalist-broadcasters with the skills needed to produce high quality radio programs

Divided into two phases, this project included formal training and practical production experience for Palestinian radio presenters in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Results:

• Training in radio talk show production for radio station presenters (one-week training for seven radio stations in the West Bank, 3-day training for three radio stations in the Gaza Strip).

• Twenty radio talk shows produced and broadcast across the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
