Ma'an Network (Ma'an) was founded in 2002 and licensed in 2004 as a non profit organization operating from its headquarters office in Bethlehem as well as from its sub-office in the Gaza Strip. Ma'an works in partnership with ten local independent television and ten radio stations located in the major cities of Palestine. These stations are staffed with journalists and media technicians who have been well trained through a series of local and international workshops organized by Ma'an Network. Also, Ma'an leads an online news agency “Ma'an News Agency” (www.maannews.net) that publishes news around the clock in Arabic, English and Hebrew. According to surveys and statistics, Ma'an News Agency is considered as the main source of information offering Palestinian and international communities with independent Palestinian news and is considered the most browsed online news agency from the Palestinian Territories.

 Ma'an is working towards achieving global media standards and providing Palestinian people with reliable local and regional information. Moreover, it aims at encouraging Palestinians to become active participants in public discussions. Through Ma’an News Agency (MNA)’s website (www.maannews.net), and the production of feature stories, documentaries and radio and TV talk shows, Ma’an also works to promote decision- makers’ accountability and transparency.

 Ma'an is committed to supporting and improving local Palestinian media production through capacity building; providing Palestinian and international communities with independent and professional Palestinian news; and promoting democracy in Palestine through media, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, and pluralism of the media. Ma'an seeks to foster the production of objective and professional news while offering high-quality Palestinian media products.

 Ma’an is dedicated to promoting understanding of, and education about, Palestine by strengthening cooperation between local, regional and international media. Its local partners provide their audiences with diverse views and political opinions.
